Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
Here’s what you need:
2 sticks salted butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar (or make your own- listen for instructions)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 teaspoons water
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
6 ounces of chocolate- cut up bars or chips (but bars are better)
Here’s what you do:
- Melt the butter over a low heat- do not brown (unless you feel like it- it’s your cookie)
- While that's going, blend sugars together in a large bowl
- Pour the butter over the sugars and blend until lighter in color
- Add egg, vanilla- mix another minute or 2
- Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cornstarch over the mixture- mix in gingerly using a large spoon or spatula
- When most of the flour is incorporated, add the chocolate and mix it bae
- Portion cookies out, a little bigger than usual, and let them sit in the fridge for 10 minutes
- Space the cookies out, so you don't end up with a giant cookie…although…
- Bake at 325 degrees for 6 mins
- Take the pan out and bang it on a flat surface
- Add a generous sprinkle of fancy salt (or kosher if that’s what you got)
- Back in the oven we go! Turn up to 350 degrees for another 6-8 minutes
- Take them out and let them rest
- Eat one over the sink before anyone else notices what you’ve done
